…I’ve used this dvd a few times now and am already noticing a difference in my stress level and tension.
I’ve used this dvd a few times now and am already noticing a difference in my stress level and tension. Meditation has always been challenging for me, but the visualizations provided in this dvd are spectacular at guiding my thoughts and helping me keep focused on the qigong set.
My favorite part is the vocal segment, you can really feel the vibrating energy coursing through you! If you are a fan of qigong, or are interested in learning, this is a great resource.
…in Sifu Patterson’s How to Meditate: The Path to Successful Meditation, I was able to see how to make it a part of each day.
This is a beautiful book and it has helped me build a daily meditation practice. I have read many texts that developed my curiosity about meditation but in Sifu Patterson’s How to Meditate: The Path to Successful Meditation, I was able to see how to make it a part of each day. The book is a journey itself, progressing through 70 questions and answers about the practice. I found this style unique, comprehensive and very accessible. I especially enjoyed the sections Are the “mind” and “heart” separate?, Is creativity connected to meditation?, Are there any signs of spiritual progress?, What if I begin to lose my enthusiasm for meditation? I appreciated the way he defined terms such as vipassana, catharsis, original face and Qigong. I like Sifu Patterson’s reminder on page 80, “Remember too, that meditation doesn’t ask you to believe but to experience. Your truth, your original face is yours and can belong to no one else. It cannot be shown to you or experienced by anyone else.” How to Meditate: The Path to Successful Meditation is full of plenty of inspiration to get to your cushion!
…You get the gift and blessing of watching a master teacher.
You get the gift and blessing of watching a master teacher, which is especially wonderful if you can’t get yourself to his classes. Even if that is possible or you have done this in class with him, you get to digest the information at your own pace. It’s an approachable sequence for anyone and is offered with modifications. It’s laid out clearly, it’s easy to follow, and easy to understand. You get to watch the sequence done in a beautiful park and then broken down by each section. Once you’ve got a handle on the basics you can benefit from the more subtle things he is expressing in the movements. For example, how deeply his mind is rooted in what he is doing, or like his arms are not only moving slowly, but like the air is water. I haven’t been practicing it long enough to speak to the benefits it claims, but he is a master teacher, so I trust him.
…has given me a broader sense of how meditation can help me, and its importance in my life.
I highly recommend this book. I’ve been trying to develop a better meditation regimen for a few years. This book has given me a broader sense of how meditation can help me, and its importance in my life. If you are interested in learning more about meditation and how it can help you, this is the book for you.
…I also went skydiving!
Since I started practicing with Sifu Jeff I have learned how to control my breathing in stressful situations like testing or doing public speaking. Both things that have kept me from completing my education goals. I also went skydiving another thing I can attribute to my time here.
